Acoustical Instrumentation from the Past

Join us to explore the world of Ancient Acoustical Instrumentation!

The 2017-2018 season will kick off with a meeting at the offices of Cavanaugh Tocci Associates in Sudbury.  This will be a social hour with exhibits of old (pre-1995) instrumentation for acoustics and vibration measurements. Cavanaugh Tocci has a small collection of retired equipment, and Acentech and HMMH
will bring some of their collections as well.  For the recent graduates there is something to be learned about the history and development of test equipment.  For those of us with more gray hair, there is the nostalgia for measuring octave bands one at a time, and using a strip chart recorder to measure reverb time.

The exhibit will also include some old and amusing marketing materials for acoustical products, and we will also have a short, hopefully entertaining presentation on bizarre topics found in older books on acoustics.

Refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP to Tim Foulkes at tfoulkes@cavtocci.com so we have an idea of how much to buy.
