Tsostis Center Reverb System
This meeting will feature a demonstration of the Wenger Transcend Active Acoustic System. This reverberation enhancement system is installed in the Jeanne Y. Curtis Performance Hall at Assumption College in Worcester. This 400 seat auditorium was designed by Nault Architects, and its opening in September of this year marks the first installation of a Wenger Transcend system in the Northeast.
Wenger Corporation is a major manufacturer for equipment to support music education and performance programs. They have been providing electronic reverberation as an option in their modular practice rooms since 1994 and a few years later began offering a larger system for rehearsal rooms. More recently they have developed the Transcend system to extend the reverberation in multi-purpose auditoriums.
Matt Hildebrand of Wenger will be on hand to discuss the details of the Transcend system. Matt worked on development of the system and has overseen the installation.
The GBC has hired a string quartet to help demonstrate the acoustics of the Tsostis center with different settings of the Wenger system, and we will have the rare opportunity to move around and listen from different locations while the musicians perform.
